Cowslip-Primula-veris

Spring 2017 is here!

With the Daffodils and Cowslips out, it feels like spring is just around the corner.  Generally, we have had another mild winter although we have had several cold frosty mornings that will help kill off some of the pests and encourage flowering in many plants.

We have already been very busy here at Greenshutters with the mild weather encouraging many of us into the garden.  The display benches in the garden centre are becoming full again with all types of garden plants.  We also have greater numbers of larger trees and shrubs available this year for instant impact.

We also have plenty of plants to give early spring colour to your garden from Bellis to Double Primroses, Cowslips, Violas, Lily of the Valley, and much, much more. To see more images for what is in flower in March, visit our Facebook photo album entitled ‘March’.

March is the last month for planting bare-root hedging plants so plant soon if you want a native hedge. Alternatively, we have pot-grown plants for later in the year. If you can pop-in, we are happy to show you what is available or visit our website for all our container-grown and rootballed hedging plants: EVERGREENHEDGING.com.

Seeds potatoes, onions, garlic and shallots are now in stock ready for planting, as are summer-flowering bulbs such as Dahlias, Begonia and Gladioli.

We wish you all a happy spring-time in the garden and hope to see you soon.
